Why is symbol search suddenly showing less results after I updated to TD Snap 1.39?

 

After updating to TD Snap 1.39, symbol search results may be limited when using non-English page sets.

This change occurs because symbol search now returns results that match the language rules assigned to the button.

For example, if a button is using Croatian (Hrvatski) language rules and you search for the word “have,” only a limited number of results may appear.

Workaround

To view additional symbol options, temporarily change the button’s language rules:

1. Select the gear and pencil icon to open editing mode.
2. Select the button where you want to add a symbol.
3. Open the Button tab.
4. Select Preferences from the left menu.
5. Change Language Rules to English (United States).
6. Select Content from the left menu.
7. Perform your symbol search. Additional results should now be available.
8. After selecting a symbol and choosing Done, return to Preferences.
9. Change Language Rules back to the correct setting for your page set.
10. Select Done to finish editing.
