How to set up the iPad the very first time or after a repair for SC Tablet, Speech Case with iPad or TDPilot

SC Tablet and TD Pilot
The SC Tablet and TD Pilot iPad's are managed by Tobii Dynavox Remote Management system. In order to receive the Apps on your iPad from Tobii Dynavox please follow these steps.
  1. Turn on the iPad. Depending on the model of iPad you have, the power button may be in different places. if you are not sure where the power button is, please see this Apple article. https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/turn-ipad-on-or-off-ipad63d30b5a/ipados
  2. The Screen will turn on and the Apple icon will appear. Then, the Hello screen will appear, scrolling through Hello in other languages. Press the Home button. This is the round button on the face of the device. Depending on the orientation of the iPad it can be at the bottom, left, right, or top of the screen.
  3. Select the language you would like for the operating System.
  4. Select the Region.
  5. QUICK START appears. Choose the SET UP MANUALLYat the bottom of the screen.
  6. Choose a WiFi Network. Connect the iPad to your network and enter the correct password. Once connected a message appears, "it may take a few minutes to activate your iPad"
  7. Data & Privacy: choose Continue
  8. Apps & Data: choose Don't Transfer Apps & Data
  9.  Remote Management will appear. Select NEXTin the upper right corner.
  10. Configuring iPad Awaiting final configuration from  "Tobii Dynavox" will appear. This may take several minutes.
  11. Keep your iPad up to date will appear. Select the Continuein Blue at the bottom.
  12. Location services: choose Enable or Disable.
  13. Screen Time: choose continue or setup later.
  14. Appearance: choose Light or Dark. Select Continuein Blue at the bottom.
  15. Welcome to iPad will appear. Select Get Started in Blue.
  16. The iPad home screen will appear with some icons: books, calendar, camera, clock, and more. The Apps from Tobii Dynavox will appear within a few minutes but will look greyed out. They will look normal when they are done downloading. This depends on the speed of your network.
Speech Case with iPad
A speech case with an iPad bought directly without a funding source or through a School system will not be managed from Tobii Dynavox.

  2. The Screen will turn on and the Apple icon will appear. Then, the Hello screen will appear, scrolling through Hello in other languages. Press the Home button.   3. Select the language you would like for the operating system.
  4. Select the Region.

  6. To install the TD Snap App, if you received a redeem code, it is in an envelope with your manuals and guides. If you did not receive a redeem code from Tobii Dynavox with your order, go to the Apple app store and purchase the TD Snap App
  7. Open the Apple app store and select the icon in the upper right corner. Enter an Apple ID and password. If you don't have one, create one. You must have an apple ID to log into the store. You do not have to enter a credit card at this time. Select the Redeem Gift card or Code. Enter the redeem code provided on the card. TD Snap will start to download.
