Instructor usage monitoring
Please note this article applies only to District subscription accounts.
If you are in instructor with organization admin privileges, you can easily track your instructors' use of Boardmaker Online. You can:
- View an Activity Utilization report to monitor which activities are being assigned and how they are being used by the students in your district.
- View an Individual Student report to track usage by each student in your district - which activities were played, the amount of time spent playing each activity, and the number of sessions played.
- View an Individual Activity report to show how a particular activity is being used.
- View a Student Roll Up report to show how much the students of any instructor are using Boardmaker Online.
Note: You can also select Admin > Instructor Usage Monitoring to open the Instructor Usage Monitoring page.

Activity Utilization Monitoring
You can generate a report that provides an overview of activity usage by all the students in your district during a specific time period. The report will show:- A bar chart displaying all activities played during the time period and the total number of minutes the activity was played.
- A table showing the author of each activity, the number of students that played the activity, the number of sessions the activity was played, and the total number of minutes ("time on task") that each activity was played.
Note: Move your cursor over any bar in the chart to view activity details - number of students to whom the activity was assigned, total sessions, and time on task.
The Activity Utilization tab is the default tab on the Instructor Usage Monitoring page.
- Select the Start Date field. A calendar will open with the current date highlighted.
- Select a start date for the report.
- Select the End Date field.
- From the calendar that opens, select an end date for the report.
Note: Click Resetto clear the start and end dates. - Select Run.
Individual Student Utilization Monitoring
An Individual Student Utilization Report will show you how each student in your organization is using Boardmaker Online. The report will show:- A pie chart showing all the activities played by the student during the selected time period.
- A table showing the author of each activity, the number of sessions the activity was played by the student, and the total number of minutes ("time on task") that the student spent on each activity.
Note:Move your cursor over any area of the chart to view details - the instructor who assigned the activity, total number of students to whom the activity was assigned, total sessions, and time on task the student spent playing activities.
- Select the Individual Student tab on the Instructor Usage Monitoring page.
- Select a student from the drop-down list of students in your district.
- Select the Start Date field. A calendar will open with the current date highlighted.
- Select a start date for the report.
- Select the End Date field.
- From the calendar that opens, select an end date for the report.
Note: Click Reset to clear the start and end dates. - Select Run.
Individual Activity Utilization Monitoring
An Individual Activity Utilization report will show you how each activity assigned by instructors in your organization is being used. The report will show:- A bar chart showing all the activities played during the selected time period.
- A table showing the date the activities were played, the author of each activity, the number of students that played the activity, the number of sessions the activity was played, and the total number of minutes ("time on task") the students spent on each activity.
Note: Move your cursor over any area of the chart to view details of the activity - the date played, amount of time played, and total time on task.
- Select the Individual Activity tab on the Instructor Usage Monitoring page.
- Select an activity t from the drop-down list of activities assigned by instructors in your district.
- Select the Start Date field. A calendar will open with the current date highlighted.
- Select a start date for the report.
- Select the End Date field.
- From the calendar that opens, select an end date for the report.
Note: Click Resetto clear the start and end dates. - Select Run.
Student Roll Up
The Student Roll Up report is an extremely useful tool for organization administrators - it can show you exactly how each of your instructor's students are using Boardmaker Online. The Student Roll Up report will show:- A bar chart showing the time each of the instructor's students spent playing activities.
- A table showing the date the activities were played, the author of each activity, the , the number of students that played the activity, the number of sessions the activity was played , and the total number of minutes ("time on task") the students spent on each activity.
Note: Move your cursor over any bar in the chart to view details - the name of the student playing the activity, the date played, and the amount of time the student spent playing the activity.
