Join us for an engaging session focused on supporting Gestalt Language Processors through motor planning! Discover foundational concepts and practical strategies for using TD Snap to promote autonomy, regulation, and connection for autistic AAC users—across assessment, treatment, and beyond. You’ll gain valuable insights into how visual supports and motor planning can be used effectively to enhance communication and foster meaningful engagement.

The training offers learners a foundational understanding and practical tips for supporting Gestalt Language Processors, with a special emphasis on motor planning. Participants will explore the power of TD Snap in fostering autonomy, regulation, and connection for Autistic AAC users from assessment to therapy. Learners will be equipped with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively utilize visual supports and motor planning strategies to enhance communication and engagement for individuals, especially those who are Gestalt Language Processors.

Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

Identify one benefit of using a flexible and customizable communication platform.

  • Describe three autistic characteristics that may affect Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) use.
  • Identify three reasons Visual Supports are essential for an AAC user.
  • Discuss two TD Snap features that support Gestalt language.
  • Apply individualized, strengths-based approaches to enhance AAC access and effectiveness for autistic communicators.

Caroline Gaddy, MFA, MA, CCC-SLP is a Learning Consultant for Tobii Dynavox. In addition, she a speech-language pathologist, AAC specialist, disability advocate, and neurodiversity educator. Caroline worked for many years in school settings as a teacher and an SLP. She also worked in medical settings with adult and pediatric populations, and specialized in supporting communication access for people with multiple disabilities. Caroline is passionate about disability justice and inclusion, and firmly believes that communication is a fundamental human right.
